Plan evacuation routes, pack critical supplies and make safer decisions when wildfire threatens your area.

Plan before a warning
Know local exit roads and choose two routes in different directions. Keep your vehicle ready, emergency alerts enabled and go bags close to the exit.
- Set meeting points outside the risk area.
- Prepare pet carriers, medication and documents.
- Reduce dry vegetation as routine prevention, never as a fire approaches.
Leave promptly when instructed
Use the route designated by authorities. If it causes no delay, close doors and windows. Wear closed shoes and clothing that covers your skin, and tell your out-of-area contact where you are going.
- Do not return for belongings.
- Do not block roads or stop to watch the fire.
- Never drive through dense smoke or a closed route.
Return only when cleared
Wait for official clearance. Hot spots, unstable trees, damaged power lines and poor air may remain. Document damage without disturbing ash or hazardous debris and follow local guidance on water and food safety.
